Brass Antiqua Workshop May 29 2017, 0 Comments

I'm happy to announce that I will be the Baroque and natural trumpet clinician for the second year at the Brass Antiqua Workshop in Winchester, Virginia. Baroque trumpet players of all levels are invited to join me for 5 days of intensive playing and learning.

This year I'll be joined by two amazing colleagues, Kiri Tollaksen on cornett, and Greg Ingles on sackbut.

The workshop is August 1-5 in Winchester, Virginia. Here's a link for more information and registration: https://www.brassantiqua.org

Thanks to Doug Wilson and Greg Rock for making the workshop possible.

New Performing Editions August 12 2014, 0 Comments

We're excited to offer several editions I've made over the years while on the road playing concerts. On my days off, especially during the 14 years I played with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, I often visited music libraries searching for original editions of little-known trumpet music. My wife, Baroque Dance specialist Paige Whitley-Bauguess asked me to search out original 17th- and 18-century opera scores to source the music for her Feuilliet dance notations. After collecting and editing the scores, I've now uploaded them on the web site. I'll be adding more in the future from both my collection and from colleagues with access to original editions.

Check out some of the editions and let us know of other pieces you'd like included.

Hope you all have a great end of the summer and are looking forward to the 2014-2015 playing season.

All the best,

Barry

Welcome to the new web site celebrating our 10th anniversary June 10 2014, 3 Comments

Welcome to our new web site. We've been working on the site for a couple of months now to make it easier to navigate, find products and get more information on Baroque trumpets, music, sackbuts, and accessories.

June 2014 marks our 10th anniversary here at The Baroque Trumpet Shop. I'd personally like to thank each and every one of you who have made your commitment to early music by working with us.

We're always excited about new instruments and new discoveries in the early brass field. I'll announce any new discoveries here.

Once again, thanks so much for your 10 years of loyal support and we look forward to the next 10 years.
