Revolution, Music of a Golden Age, Vol. 2. Australian Baroque Brass, John Foster, Director
Following on from its highly successful 2006 disc, Music of a Golden Age Volume 1, Australia's leading period brass ensemble, Australian Baroque Brass, captures the revolutionary sounds of the late 18th and early 19th centuries with the release of its second disc in the Music of a Golden Age series, Revolution

The disc, released on Tubicium Records, features works by Mozart, Beethoven, Salieri, Schubert and other composers all working in a time marked by war, social change and intellectual upheaval.

Through the choice of repertoire, the disc also surveys the development of natural brass instruments, the technique of hand-stopping, through to a performance of one of the first works ever written for the valved horn, Schubert's Auf dem Strom

Musicians featured on Revolution represent Australia's most accomplished period instrumentalists including Australian Baroque Brass Artistic Director John Foster - natural trumpet, Darryl Poulsen - natural horn, Neal Peres da Costa - fortepiano and Kanen Breen, tenor.
