RENAISSANCE BASS SACKBUT IN F OR EB

after Isaac Ehe, Nuremberg 1612
Original: in Eb, Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nuremberg
Bore: 11.5/12.0 mm, bell diameter: 124 mm
The tuning slide for both the F and Eb instrument can be pulled out to reach 430 Hz. The F slide can also be pulled out to E and the Eb slide to D, but the instrument functions better when a half-tone bow is used instead.
On all models the slide handle has a ball joint and includes a detachable counterweight.

SLOKAR MODEL
The SLOKAR sackbuts, which have been developed together with Branimir Slokar and his Quartett, are designed to enable an easy and frequent change from the modern to the historical instrument. The shape of the bells and the diameters of the tubes are authentic at the essential points. The concept, however, has been altered so that the 3rd slide position corresponds now with the bell rim, as is usual for modern trombones.
